Benchmarking FIBA-A: Exploring Excellence in Management at FEB Universitas Diponegoro
On June 19, 2023, the Management Study Program of the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) at UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang conducted a benchmarking activity FIBA-A at FEB Universitas Diponegoro. The purpose of this activity was to study successful management practices implemented at the institution and apply them in a local context.
Benchmarking is the process of comparing and analyzing best practices utilized by other organizations. Through benchmarking, organizations can identify weaknesses, opportunities for improvement, and adopt best practices to enhance their performance. In this case, the Management Study Program at UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang was interested in studying the academic and administrative management at FEB Universitas Diponegoro, which has achieved FIBA-A accreditation, the highest level of accreditation for the Faculty of Business Administration and Accounting.
The benchmarking activity FIBA-A involved a group of lecturers and administrative staff from the Management Study Program at UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang. They visited FEB Universitas Diponegoro to study the successful management practices implemented there. During the visit, they had the opportunity to interact with experienced lecturers and staff from FEB Universitas Diponegoro who were proficient in managing successful study programs.
One of the primary focuses of this benchmarking activity was the curriculum management and teaching methods at FEB Universitas Diponegoro. The lecturers and staff from the Management Study Program at UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang had the chance to observe firsthand how FEB Universitas Diponegoro designed and implemented a curriculum that was relevant to the needs of the industry and society. They also studied effective teaching methods used by lecturers to enhance students’ understanding and skills.
Additionally, this benchmarking activity also encompassed the management of administration and facilities at FEB Universitas Diponegoro. The lecturers and staff from the Management Study Program at UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang studied the efficient and effective administrative management systems that had been implemented there. They evaluated the existing educational facilities and took note of best practices in their management and maintenance.
The outcomes of this benchmarking activity are expected to provide valuable insights to the Management Study Program at UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang in enhancing their education quality and management. By studying the proven successful practices at FEB Universitas Diponegoro, they can adopt relevant strategies and implement them in their own context. It is anticipated that this will contribute to the continuous improvement and development of the program, benefiting both the students and the institution as a whole.
